Bass is usually considered to be the coolest of all instruments. Mainly by the bassists. Recorded with a good DI, a fine bass often sounds perfect as you get it but often needs just a little push here and there. And that is why Instant Audio came up with QuickBass. To give you the quick EQ, quick compression, quick saturation, and fatness in no time, QuickBass is the ultimate bass polisher and finalizer.
All-in-one bass solution
Using multiple plugins to achieve one goal simply makes no sense. You can experience unwanted interaction between plugins and their extra features (unnecessary for the job) can drain your CPU power. So Instant Audio decided to put all the tools you need to get the perfect bass sound into one box with as few knobs as possible to find the sweet spot between speed and versatility.
Ready for your technique
No matter what technique you play, Quick bass adapts to it. The EQ is internally preset to deliver the best sound for finger or pick styles, and for funky slap technique. The Millerize button makes it ready for slap-solo sound treating your mids a special way. Although most of the curve is preset you still have a few EQ knobs to fine-tune. But starting at zero positions is recommended.
Slight to heavy compression
A great compressor is a must-have. It treats the dynamics and colours too. QuickBass lets you blend between Vari-mu, Opto and FET compressor types to give your bass the desired character. How much you want to squeeze is all your choice.
Bigger, fatter. Too thin?
That is a common bass problem. QuickBass solves it with its unique one-knob doubler. It can also generate sub-bass to give you that nice fat bottom that every song needs. It's the bass that makes crowds dance.
Gentle to harsh
There's no amusement without saturation, and QuickBass handles this section with care. Its parallel saturator can deliver anything between "just-a-little" analogue feel and heavy bass distortion only a valve amp could deliver (before there was QuickBass, of course).
Number of presets
QuickBass was developed and tuned with (and by) bassists. It is most likely that you will be able to set up your sound just by dialling one of a huge number of presets prepared by both mixing engineers and bass players like Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree, O.r.k). QuickBass covers all styles from Jazz to Death Metal.
Hassle-free software protection
No iLok, no dongle nor internet access is required for activation. This software uses licence files to activate your software. You can freely use the purchased software on all your computers as long as you are the user.
Realistic 3D yet flexible GUI
The photorealistic graphic user interface of the plugin gives you the feeling you are touching the real hardware. But it easily adapts to your needs. You can always drag the arrow in the bottom right corner to change its size - make it smaller to save the valuable screen space, or enlarge it to make it easier to use.
64-bit audio quality at ANY sampling rate
The plugin provides the maximum audio quality you can get. It uses internal 64-bit audio processing and can handle any sampling rate. 192 kHz or even higher.
Smart bypass
The intelligent way this plugin manages bypassing ensures that you don't get any click or harmful noises when automating the parameter. It also compensates for latency ensuring that the bypass states are perfectly in sync with each other.
Intelligent sleep on silence
This plugin intelligently detects whether it makes sense to perform processing at all. And if not, it temporarily turns on sleep mode. In such a state, it requires virtually no CPU at all saves the computing sources for other processes.
After the 15-days fully working trial version expires, instead of generating noises, the plugin remains fully functional (soundwise). QuickBass 1.3 turns into a free second-hand version and only loses the chance to tweak some of the parameters (see the free version screenshot) but take the advantage of using a mighty free plugin. Presets made with a full version remain functional in the free version.
