Produced using (mostly) hardware analogue synths, pianos, organs and drums, and recorded via a jaw-dropping array of high-end outboard, this fat 662 MB collection of Royalty-Free sampled loops and MIDI files is perfect for building deliciously evocative groove-driven soundscapes for the late night hours.
Covering a range of tempos between 100 and 140 BPM, 'The Night Shift: Downbeat Soul' comprises 119 fat analogue synth lead lines and chord riffs, and 32 emotionally charged piano and organ chord progressions, pinned down by 96 fat, Funk-inspired analogue synth basslines and 48 quirky, dubbed-out drum loops. 15 vibey guitar and bass FX slides are also included for extra flavour in the edit.
The samples were recorded at the Amy Winehouse Foundation studio in London, using Avalon preamps. Instrumental high points include Prophet 600 and Juno 106 synths, an upright piano and a Wurlitzer electric piano; while the rhythm section drew on a variety of drum Kits.
To aid you in the production process, Looptone have also thrown in most of the MIDI files used to create the samples, as well as 45 drum one-shots with which to program your own beats.
Driven by pure creativity rather than a specific genre template, this sublime soundware package lets the producer take the lead, manipulating its provocative sounds to push musical boundaries in new directions as their imagination takes them.
