The Story of EDM Samples
The term "EDM" predates the genre itself, originally being used as a catch-all term for Electronic Dance Music, such as House, Trance, and Techno. Around 2011, EDM as we know it started to emerge, with artists like Martin Garrix, Avicii, and Swedish House Mafia pioneering a hard-edged style of dance music which was popular both on the radio and in festivals. Typical EDM Sounds
Producers have been creative with their use of EDM fills. Firstly, there's the impact snare sample, used as a fill every 8 or 16 bars.
